Who is Leroy?

My name is Keith Leroy Balsamo. My middle name is tied to my personal journey of healing, change, and transformation. Just like you, I am all too familiar with the challenges life presents—big and small. They can be unpredictable and flip our world upside down, in what feels like a blink of an eye. Often times, however, the process of unraveling happens so gradually, we don’t even notice.

Prior to accepting that failure was an inevitable, a natural and reoccurring part of life, I personally felt powerless, numb, and unfulfilled. I didn’t want to believe that anything was possible because that would require me to take on more responsibility. I was always striving for perfection, trying to preserve an ideal image I had of myself. I was insecure, scared, and disconnected. I was in denial of my own suffering.

Exploration, Revelation, & Education

I decided to make some big changes like leaving my job as a salaried manager. I exchanged comfort and security for adventure and uncertainty. I was in an exploratory phase which I like to describe as the lifestyle of a free spirit—full of creative pursuits and traveling. I used that time to reflect on past experiences. Then, I began imagining how vastly different my future could be if I started making fundamental changes. The process of reconstructing new, empowering beliefs about who I was and who I could become is what truly oriented me in a more authentic and meaningful way.

Striving to understand myself on a deeper level resulted in a personal revelation about the concept of learning. I realized how education and learning contributed to my identity, development, and status in the world. Prior to this, I approached learning as a way to appease others. I used to think: if I learn this, and do that, for those people, everyone will be happy, and I can go about my business. My perspective had changed and concept of learning no longer seemed like a chore, but a gift. I returned to school to study philosophy and psychology which became the foundation for my work as a life coach.

The Investment & Building the Foundation

One major insight that has helped me find success both personally and professionally is that you have to be willing to invest in your growth & development and take calculated risks along the way. Without investing in myself and putting in the work, it would have been impossible for me to change my life around. This has allowed me to take what I have learned and transform it into a mission that serves others in a positive and constructive way.

Mission to Serve Others

My mission as a professional life coach is to help others recognize what makes their existence unique and significant beyond measure. It is my belief that this type of work has a profound and positive impact on people at the individual level that inevitably results in a ripple effect through our connection to others. It goes way beyond a few sentences on a website. It is a way of Being… It is a mindset, a lifestyle, a particular perspective, a responsibility, a commitment to helping people become the best possible version of themselves, and making the world a better place in the process.
